In daily work, many people aren't very familiar with the key points to keep in mind when using embossing steel rollers in the production process. Below, we’ll briefly outline the following ten process steps that should be observed when manufacturing embossing machine steel rollers:
1. Insert the fully assembled inner liner, which has been welded as a unit, into the roller body, ensuring proper alignment and fit at the joint between the welded inner end plate and the roller body.
2. Material Cutting: The roller body is made of seamless steel pipe, the shaft is made of 45 round steel, and the end plates are made of Q235 steel plate. Cut the materials according to the dimensions specified in the drawings, leaving an 8 mm machining allowance.
3. Weld the reinforcing ribs and end shafts onto the welded composite roller body. Pay attention to ensuring the coaxial alignment between the two end shafts and the inner sleeve; weld only the inner end plates on the shafts.
4. Turning: The mating surfaces of components such as the roller body, end plates, and shafts shall be machined to H9/f9 fit tolerance.
5. Turn a flat end face on one end of the steel roller shaft and drill a standard center hole.
6. Install the outer end plates onto the shafts at both ends, and weld the junctions where the outer end plates meet the shafts and the roller body.
7. Anneal the roller blanks of welded assemblies to relieve internal stresses.
8. Correct the static balance of the steel rollers.
9. Turning: Rough and finish turning all parts of the steel roller body to meet the dimensional requirements specified in the drawings. The surface roughness of the working surface of the roller body shall not exceed 1.6 μm; the radial runout tolerance between the working surface of the roller and the end shaft support surfaces (where the rolling bearings are mounted) is 0.025 mm; the roundness of the working surface of the roller body is 0.036 mm; the mating bore for the bearing shall be machined to a K6 precision grade. Then, set up the center rest, turn the end faces, and drill holes to the specified dimensions.
10. Process the patterned steel roller according to the required design. Then, apply a hard chrome plating layer with a thickness of 0.03 to 0.05 mm.
Only by strictly following the relevant process procedures during production can the quality of the steel rollers for embossing machines be ensured.
